An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) official, B Kalyan Chakravarthy has held various positions in Government of Assam, Government of Telangana and Government of India. He is currently serving as Principal Secretary to Government of Assam.
An expert in environmental issues, he has participated at global climate conferences, including COP21 in Paris, COP23 in Bonn, and COP24 in Poland. He is an alumnus of IIT Madras; IIM Ahmedabad, and has a PhD from Osmania University, besides a degree in law.
He has led the transformation of polytechnics and ITIs into centres of excellence in Assam, and established the Assam Skill University. He also oversaw the largest Bihu dance performance and the largest traditional drum ensemble in the State.
